Marton Fucsovics advanced to his fourth ATP Tour final and first since 2021 on Saturday at the Tiriac Open in Bucharest, where he overcame Chilean Alejandro Tabilo 6-4, 6-4 to reach the title match.

The Hungarian served well throughout the 85-minute clash, striking 12 aces and winning 77 per cent (27/35) of his first-serve points, according to Infosys ATP Stats to continue his impressive run at the ATP 250.

"I was working for it really hard," Fucsovics said. "I think I really deserved this final. I was unlucky in the past months but I was working hard and kept believing in myself. I have been playing well all week. Hopefully I can win the tournament."

Fucsovics, up 20 spots to No. 62 in the PIF ATP Live Rankings following his 10th tour-level win of the season, is the first Hungarian to reach the final in Bucharest.

The 32-year-old is chasing his second tour-level crown this week, having triumphed on clay in Geneva in 2018. Holding a 1-2 record in ATP Tour finals, Fucsovics will aim to improve that record when he meets Mariano Navone in Sunday’s final.

Navone swept past Frenchman Gregoire Barrere 6-3, 6-4 to reach his second ATP Tour final of the season.

The Argentine, who advanced to the title match in Rio de Janeiro in February, is up to No. 41 in the PIF ATP Live Rankings, securing a Top 50 debut on Monday.

Navone is chasing his maiden tour-level title at the ATP 250. The 23-year-old has won five titles on the ATP Challenger Tour.
